As you can see two sides of our property are bordered by a Blue Ridge Fishing stream, so the fishing is pretty good here. Mostly Rainbow, Brook trout and what I like to call "scum suckers"!
We have had below average rain this season which does affect our streams, but so far the fishing has still been good.
For the best experience bring your own gear. We try and keep poles on hand, free for our guests to use, we just ask that you return them at the end of the day & in the same condition so they are ready for the next guest to use.
For regular "pole fishing' we use bread dough, or you can run up to the corner store for bait. Fishing early and late in the day is best... though if you have your fly fishing gear you know you can fish anytime.
For those of you who are really into a good fly fishing experience, we highly recommend Brookside Guides. They can teach you, if you are a novice... or take the most experienced of fishermen to some of the greatest fishing spots in this part of the country.
They will pick you up and deliver you safely back to your cabin. You will want to make plans early as they are the best in the area and stay booked up. To contact them, call Starr Nolan at 877-298-2568 or their cell at 828-215-4234. Check out their site at brooksideguides.com or find them on our Area Activities link under Plan Your Trip.
